Cathodic Protection Design and
Consulting Services

Cathodic protection design services and corrosion consulting from NACE certified experts.

Deepwater Corrosion Services began in 1986 as an offshore corrosion inspection company. While we still provide these services, our main business has developed into designing and manufacturing solutions to the many corrosion problems we discovered offshore, namely failing cathodic protection systems. We have a large staff of NACE certified corrosion engineers, experienced in all aspects of cathodic protection science. We have encouraged them over the years to put their efforts into innovative new methods and products to bring the science of cathodic protection up to speed with the developments in today's cutting edge energy market.

Planning For The Future - While all of our consultants are experienced in traditional cathodic protection design, as a result of the aging infrastructure in the older oil fields of the world, a lot of our efforts have been spent developing smart, affordable methods to retrofit cathodic protection systems for mature assets. The results have been overwhelmingly successful. Deepwater has a suite of proven products, designed and manufactured in house, for any type of cathodic protection installation.

A Wealth of Experience - Though we specialize in retrofitting aging cathodic protection on most types of offshore assets, we also provide a full range of anodes and consulting services for unique cathodic protection problems. We have an extensive resume of failure analysis and diagnostic consulting services, as well as traditional cathodic protection design and evaluation. If your corrosion problem is more specific, and based offshore, we can find the solution.

Monitoring - In addition to cathodic protection, Deepwater has designed and manufactured an entire line of monitoring equipment, which can be installed concurrently with a CP retrofit. We encourage clients to take advantage of this capability, which increases the cost of most projects by only a few percentage points. Reliable information about cathodic protection potentials and other vital aspects of the CP system allow operators to effectively manage their assets far into the future.

Capabilities

Cathodic Protection Design and Engineering

Deepwater has a N.A.C.E. certified team that design and engineer all types of cathodic protection systems. Many of these designs have evolved from standard Deepwater products, the inclusion of which can be cost-effectively tailored to meet the needs of any type of infrastructure asset.

Offshore Expertise

Deepwater is a leading provider of offshore cathodic protection systems. We design with the most appropriate technologies for the offshore market, keeping in mind the unique challenges posed by installing cathodic protection offshore to new and existing structures or pipelines.

Retrofit Technology

Deepwater specializes in providing life extension cathodic protection systems for aging infrastructure assets. Working within a complete asset integrity management program, Deepwater has experience retrofitting hundreds of structures in many of the world main market areas. In 2009, Deepwater retrofitted cathodic protection on 124 structures in the Gulf of Mexico alone.

Onshore Systems

With the addition of our new cathodic protection design center in the United Kingdom, Deepwater has an experienced team of engineers capable of designing systems to address the gamut of onshore corrosion prevention requirements.

Feasibility Studies, Auditing and Corrosion Consultancy

Our staff have extensive experience in auditing assets, providing corrosion control and cathodic protection solutions for any given situation. In addition to concept and FEED and detailed design and modeling, we also provide third party review services, failure analysis and anode testing.

Inspection, Monitoring and Survey

Deepwater can cover all corrosion inspections, including both topside and submerged surveys. We manufacture monitoring equipment, including probes for topside and subsea potential measurement. Our staff are well trained with extensive on-site experience using all types of equipment and in real time data interpretation.
