The CP Gun is the most user-friendly diver-held cathodic-protection probe on the market.
The CP Gun outperforms all other available bathycorrometer-type devices in both accuracy and convenience. Longer battery life, interchangeable freshwater / seawater electrodes and ultra-bright LED displays (for limited-visibility conditions) make the CP Gun the most user-friendly diver-held CP probe. The dual-electrode elements and readouts coupled with a self-calibration capability make it the most accurate unit offered. Each probe kit comes with a full complement of spare parts, and replacements are readily available.
A single set of disposable alkaline batteries provides up to 150 hours of continuous survey operation, and a convenient on-off switch allowing display only when actually probing provides even longer life. The CP Gun is rated to depths of up to 300 m (~1000 ft). The CP Gun is designed for situations where a few contact CP readings are required. The unit, like all Polatrak probes, has twin elements and dual readouts, providing an unparalleled level of accuracy and redundancy.

Key design points
1. Guaranteed accuracy
Many common sources for error are eliminated with the twin-element configuration. The dual silver / silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrodes provide internal redundancy and on-line calibration, which allows the probe to be reliably tested and serviced in the field.
2. Season-long battery life
Two standard, replaceable 9V batteries, combined with a convenient on/off switch, allows the probe to be used continuously for the entire dive season unlike most other corrosion probes in its class. Battery life among similar probes is a fraction of the CP Gun’s.
3. Rugged construction
The sturdy design of the CP Gun probe allows easy replacement of worn or damaged parts without having to replace the entire probe. It can be serviced easily in the field, and Deepwater also offers repair services. The probe can also be rented and repaired by any of the leading industry equipment rental houses.
4. Ag/AgCl or Cu/CuSO4 electrodes
Interchangeable Cu/CuSO4 reference elements for the CP Gun probe now allow diver or ROV surveys to be performed in brackish or fresh water rivers and lakes, where silver-chloride electrodes are not compatible.
5. Ultra-bright LED readouts
The CP Gun is the only diver-held probe with bright, backlit LED readouts that allow the diver to interrogate CP readings in conditions with low visibility, such as river crossings and brackish water areas.

Zinc calibration coupon
The zinc calibration coupon is essential for calibrating the probe offshore and for testing the reference electrodes.
Ag/AgCl elements
The probe operates with dual Ag / AgCl reference electrodes. The CP Gun Kit comes with one extra replacement. Additional electrodes are available individually.
Protective case
The standard CP Gun kit comes with all components and spare parts housed in a custom-built, durable, watertight offshore pelican case with wheels and an extendable handle.
O-rings (for lens)
Lens removal requires a new set of O-rings to be fitted to the grooves when reassembling the CP Gun probe. Four replacement O-rings and two backup rings are included.
Contact tips
Each standard CP Gun kit comes with six contact tips: The one that’s mounted and five replacements. Additional replacement tips are available individually.
Nose cone assembly
The CP Gun Kit nose cone assembly is comprised of a cone, a contact tip and a connector. Replacement tips and cones are available separately.
Lens screws
The CP Gun Kit comes with four replacement lens screws and an Allen wrench, which are vital for re-attaching the lens to the main body of the probe during maintenance.
O-Ring lube
The standard CP Gun Kit also comes with two tubes of O-ring lube for lens reattachment during probe maintenance. Replacement tubes are available individually.
Standard spares kit
The standard spares kit contains 5 tips, 4 lens screws, 4 Allen screws (to remove lens), an Allen wrench, 2 9V batteries, 4 O-rings and 2 backup rings.
