Press Release
A New State of the Art Aluminum Anode Foundry Conveniently Located in the Houston Energy Corridor

09.24.2008

NOTICE: Deepwater Gaus has been dissolved as a brand. Gaus foundry still provides anodes for Deepwater's systems. This press release remains for historical purposes only.

Deepwater Corrosion Services Inc. and GAUS Anodes International LLC have signed a 5 Year cooperative production and marketing agreement. Under the arrangement the foundry will produce aluminum anodes exclusively for Deepwater Corrosion, who will provide complimentary design services, sales and marketing and QA/QC for entry into the offshore industry.

Antonio Galvan, CEO of GAUS stated, “Our purpose built facility with its state of the art electric induction furnaces and premier Houston location give us a strong, competitive position in the offshore marketplace. Our agreement with Deepwater guarantees more rapid entry into the local market and an existing baseline business for Deepwater’s proprietary range of aluminum anode based retrofit products”

Jim Britton CEO of Deepwater: “I have known and worked with Mr. Galvan for over twenty five years. His anode production knowledge is legendary; this was a natural strategic move for Deepwater, as the leading provider of offshore retrofit systems to the North American offshore oil and gas industry. We can now control our pricing, quality and deliveries more closely, and having our own production facility will allow ongoing product improvements in aluminum sacrificial anodes and permanent reference electrode technology.”

The foundry, commissioned in late 2007, has a production capacity of 350 Metric Tonnes (770,000 Pounds) per month. The two electric induction furnaces can melt 1 Tonne (2200 lbs) of aluminum ready to cast in 90 minutes from cold. This eliminates melt contamination and ensures precise chemical composition for every heat. Our extensive inventory of water-cooled molds allows large diameter thin section pipeline bracelets to be cast flawlessly to the most exhaustive physical specifications ..

Only two alloys are offered: DEEP 10 and DEEP 7, both aluminum alloys to cover any type of offshore application.
