Deepwater’s US production moves to a new, larger Houston facility

RetroClamp fabrication, up considerably, is a focus at the new location.

Due to continued expansion, Deepwater has relocated its fabrication operations in the US to a new facility in Houston's energy corridor. The new 16,000 sq. ft facility is located on FM 529, close to the corporate headquarters building on Britmore (Train Court location).

The new facility houses a newly acquired 10 x 5 OMAX CNC water jet, a 10 x 5 plasma cutter, 64 ton iron worker, a 40 ton horizontal press, five welding stations, a 15 ton overhead crane, and a Baileigh precision clamp bender. Robert Comeaux was hired by Deepwater in late 2009 to locate, commission and manage the new center, which is capable of handling the increase in demand for Deepwater's cathodic protection equipment. After signing the lease in Q1 of this year, the new facility is fully operational. The shop has been set up specifically to manufacture Deepwater’s proprietary range of quality corrosion control products, including RetroClamp, RetroBuoy, RetroPod, RetroSled, SmartMat, Sunstation & TankGard Systems. The manufacturing of I-Rod® pipe support products and cathodic protection monitoring and survey equipment, will remain at Train Court.
