Way Ahead In Corrosion Control

Deepwater helps to preserve two local marine antiques

Deepwater Corrosion has worked with other volunteer organizations to donate materials and labor to retrofit the external underwater steel corrosion control systems for two local marine assets which have been converted into public museums. Using Deepwater’sRetroLink cathodic protection (CP) retrofit system, both structures were quickly fitted with their new anodes and both will be protected for years into the future. Deepwater’s field staff personally oversaw the installation of the anode strings on these two structures, one in Louisiana and the other in Galveston, with the help of some other local volunteer companies.

CEO Jim Britton: “At Deepwater, we make our living from offshore and marine structures. We are happy to work with all the other volunteers who help keep these old marine assets available for our kids and grandkids to see. It's nice to be able to lend a hand to prevent corrosion from destroying these pieces of American history.”
