The General Proximity Electrode can be attached to a divers belt, providing potentials while he/she works.
The Polatrak Proximity Probe is designed specifically for diver use when conducting subsea platform services. Like all Polatrak probes, it has twin Ag/AgCl elements to allow on-line calibration. The Standard Seacon RM-3 connector allows rapid plug into the divers inspection umbilical.
This probe can only be used with a topside ground, it is a proximity probe only. Deepwater can supply a mating umbilical cable if required. The probe can be interfaced to small Eye-Ball type ROVs if required, but still can only operate in the proximity survey mode.
Abstract: New deep-water discoveries combined with current high energy prices have given much of the world's aging offshore infrastructure a new lease on life.
Pipelines and structures located offshore of Alaska face unique challenges to monitoring cathodic protection. Advances in Cathodic Protection Monitoring technology are discussed. New portable ROV instrumentation as well as fixed monitoring of parameters affecting CP system performance ...

Dual Ag/AgCl elements (silver / silver chloride) allow for online calibration and planned redundancy, making Polatrak the most reliable brand of CP probe on the market.
The proximity electrode comes with a standard connector, but any sort of replacement can be fitted to interface with the diver umbilical.
The general proximity probe costs about the same as old-fashioned single element electrodes.
