RetroSled™
Aluminum anode sled for pipelines

Materials

RetroSled uses the highest available quality of sacrificial anode alloys. Typical ambient and cold water Al-In-Zn compositions are used. All steel fabrication uses ASTM A 36 material and is performed in our own manufacturing facility as well as at sub-licensed facilities in various regions. A sub-licensee list is available upon request.

Design life

RetroSled system design life is 10 – 30 years (depending on customer requirements).

RetroClamp

Each RetroSled is shipped with two RetroClamps; typical cables are 2 x 25 feet #4/0 AWG heavy duty flex cables. The clamp can be installed by diver or ROV on any tubular member.

Aluminum anode material

Offshore cathodic protection with sacrificial anodes requires the highest quality aluminum. Deepwater Gaus brand anodes are available in one of two aluminum alloys (Deep7 and Deep10), each utilizing a chemical composition unique for performance in either tropical or cold, deep water (respectively). For full aluminum anode specs, visit the anodes section.
