The ROV II is the most dependable, widely used tip contact probe on the market.
The Polatrak ROV II is the world's best selling general purpose tip contact cathodic protection probe. It was the first such probe to be manufactured with twin elements to allow on-line calibration, eliminating time consuming procedures on-site and reducing a large percentage of user error.
The ROV II easily interfaces with the ROV, but can also be held by divers. It serves as either a tip-contact or proximity-style probe, and if ROV operators want to avoid connection to the umbilical, the ROV interfaces with Deepwater's Deep C Meter Readout, providing a self-contained, direct subsea readout, viewable on the ROV's video camera. Like all Polatrak corrosion probes, the ROV II is fully field-serviceable, with plug-in electrode elements and interchangeable components.
The ROV II can be purchased from Deepwater, or rented from any number of top offshore equipment rental agencies around the world.
Many common sources for error are eliminated with the twin element configuration. The dual silver / silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrodes provide internal redundancy and on-line calibration, allowing the probe to be reliably tested and serviced in the field.
Depending on the objectives in the particular cathodic protection survey, the ROV II can be used as a "stabbing" tip-contact probe, or with a surface ground wire (usually through the diver's umbilical) it can be used as a proximity electrode as well.
The strong individual elements of the ROV II probe allows easy replacement of worn or damaged parts without having to replace the entire probe. Deepwater offers repair services, or the probe can be serviced easily in the field.
The ROV II probe can be wired through the umbilical of the diver or ROV using it, or if umbilical interface isn't desirable, the Deep-C-Meter readout makes the system self contained. Readings are displayed for the Camera of the ROV to record with dual bright LED readouts.

The zinc calibration coupon is essential for calibrating the probe offshore, and consequently, testing the reference electrodes.
The ROV II probe operates with dual Ag / AgCl reference electrodes, which plug directly into the guts of the probe. Additional electrode elements are available individually..
Each standard ROV II comes with one (1) mounted contact tip, but no replacements. Additional replacement tips are available individually, or in sets of three (3).
The ROV II nose cone assembly comprises the nose cone, a contact tip, and the connector. Replacement tip(s) and cone(s) are available separately.
The tail assembly is the main connection network, inside the housing. It plugs the umbilical into the reference electrodes and the contact tip house in the nose cone.
A whip extender is also available for the ROV II probe (not included in the standard kit), which can make extend the whip up to twelve (12) ft.
The optional T-Handle mount for ROV's has a shock absorber to protect the probe during survey. The T-handle can be swapped for a fish-tail style handle.
