
General Info
The VSE Anode system is designed to allow optimal operation of Mixed Metal Oxide activated titanium anode elements in saline mud, sand or silt burial conditions. This is achieved by providing a natural water envelope around the anode elements. Current is discharged from the underside of the anode sled. This type of anode material, as with all other types of impressed current anode, does not work predictably in saline mud exposure. The sled is designed to operate in harsh environments. Artificial frond arrays along the sides of the sled are designed to encourage self-burying, and a sacrificial steel plate is attached to the bottom to prevent damage to the screen during installation. This plate will corrode away within 2 years of installation, by which time the sled will be settled in place.
Anode elements are titanium tubes with triple coated MMO coating.
